Magical Kenya Open 2022

ABSA has sponsored the Magical Kenya Open 2022 Golf Tournament for the last 13 years during which time the tournament has increasingly grown in stature and equity. ABSA was the official presenting partner for the tournament and this year their aim was to create a memorable Kenya Open experience through fun and engaging activities that speak to our Kenyan ways.

The theme was Africanacity and this was brought out through the décor and experiences of the event.

OBJECTIVES:
    1. Driving awareness of the different Absa products to stakeholders.
    2. Demonstrate brand purpose by enhancing our stakeholders experience through unique customer experiences.
    3. Engage and delight our stakeholders in a way that will promote the Absa brand.
    4. Capitalize on the sponsorship to drive commercial objectives and ensure a positive ROI.
EXPEREINCES
1. Whiskey Night

On the first night, Thursday, ABSA Kenya had an exclusive whiskey tasting for its invited guests.  The space was decked with vibrant African Décor to bring out the Kenyanacity theme. On arrival guests were ushered in by Brand Ambassadors dressed in theme, with a welcome drink in hand. Key stakeholders made their speeches as the whiskey sommelier took the guests through the whiskey tasting session in between speeches.

2. Beer-shara Sundowner

Absa provided a comfortable space where their guests could catch the game from the screen but be able to mingle and socialize. There was also a 360 degree camera that anybody could use and interact with. The Absa team was treated to a full VIP experience courtesy of the trailblazing Mixo-Two cocktail making machine provided by Moods Premium Cocktails, which proved to be hit with the guests. There was a digital trivia spin the wheel which provided a once in a lifetime opportunity for individuals to get their hands on the truly exquisite Absa branded merchandise.

3. The Pavilion

On Saturday and Sunday the ABSA pavilion tent was filled with exciting experiences. A henna artist tattooed the guests giving them that Kenyan henna art culture experience. Also to engage the guests, a caricature artist made caricatures which they took home with them. This was a keepsake for the guests.

The guests who enjoy gaming were not left behind as they participated in the trivia spin the wheel and proceeded to win ABSA branded merchandise. In the space was the silent disco for those that wanted to enjoy some music but still catch the game live.

ABSA also appreciated local talent and entrepreneurs by inviting local upcoming artists who got to showcase their pieces and got an opportunity to sell to invited guests. This added to the African décor and brought out the theme even more.

4. The Village

On Saturday and Sunday the ABSA village tent hosted Absa clients and invited guests. Absa provided a comfortable space where their guests could catch the game from the screen but be able to mingle and socialize. Also deployed in this space were two plasma screens where Absa brand and product videos were looped. There was a 360 degree camera that anybody could use and interact with.

The digital trivia spin the wheel engagement allowed for individuals to win some awesome Absa branded merchandise. In the evening there were artists who performed. The Absa tent allowed for VIP viewing of all artists.

The very first digital cocktail machine courtesy of IZone, Mixo 2 was a favorite was set up at the bar. Guests got to choose and make their own cocktails from a wide range of cocktails.
