About the role
The CFO is responsible for effective financial risk management and for planning the organization’s financial strategy including building financial models, analyzing data, preparing financial statements, reconciling income with expenses, and keeping track of the company’s earnings and projected cash flows. By preparing accurate forecasts, analyzing strengths and weaknesses of financial strategies and proposing corrective actions, when necessary, the CFO shall play a key role in decisions about future investments or cuts.
Specific Duties
- Maintain an optimal capital structure for the business
- Drive the company’s financial planning
- Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations
- Oversee and direct preparation of financial statements
- Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports
- Oversee collaboration with external auditors and address audit findings
- Allocate capital to long term assets
- Decide on investment strategies considering cash and liquidity risks
- Compare profitability and cut off rates between proposed investments and prevailing investments and make recommendations
- Perform risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments
- Control and evaluate the organization’s revenue growth plans and capital structure
- Keep abreast of changing regulations, emerging risks and trends and constantly make adjustment and recommendations to safeguard the business
- Supervise all finance personnel
- Evaluate and oversee performance and performance related matters for the department
- Ensure compliance with the law and the company’s policies
- Leverage and optimize the company’s finance IT systems
- Manage vendor relationships

Experience and Qualifications
- At least 10 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or financial audits
- CPA K qualification
- BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
- MSc/MBA is a plus
- In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
- Ability to strategize and solve problems
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
- An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers
